“Imagining the Mist” is a thoughtful, ethereal collection transcending time and space. Silhouettes, textures, and patterns evolve from shapes drawn while listening to Medieval music. The melody, rhythm, and dynamics of delicate fairy rounds, steady liturgical chants, and empowering, mystical folk songs dictate what is drawn on paper. Balance of fluidity and control in the contour of the music is reflected in sketches and final garments. Colors in the collection evoke the stunning and diverse landscapes seen in personal travels through Iceland. These elements are brought together through the use of distinct Art Nouveau characteristics and the presence of both cool and desaturated warm tones in the work of Alfonse Mucha.
